A Santorini-Chic Dining Room

As a designer, I love working with clients who share an affinity for all things bright and bold. So I was delighted when a recent client came to me looking to convert their main entry space into a Mediterranean-inspired dining room suited for hosting dinner parties for their eclectic group of friends. I also love hosting dinner parties in my home and know how a well-curated dining space can elevate a gathering and enhance the overall energy and atmosphere of the party.
Having recently moved into their new home, this client started with a relatively blank slate: bland beige walls, minimal existing furniture pieces and a dream of filling their home with their close friends and family in an energizing environment. They were also ready and willing to take on painting and assembling the space but didn't know how to pull together the look that they envisioned, making my comprehensive design package the perfect solution for them.
The comprehensive design package is great for folks like this client who need an overall design plan, from paint colors to furniture selections to art and decor recommendations, and want the flexibility to bring the design to life as their time and budget allows.
Here is how the room looked before my design plan was implemented.

Inspired by the bright blue rooftops and crisp white facades that are the hallmarks of design in Santorini, Greece, I recommended a bold blue paint color to serve as the backdrop of the space and bright white trim and furnishings to set off the bold wall color. We added new dining room chairs and a buffet to store their special serving platters and dishes to make hosting a breeze, as well as an entry bench to hold guests' coats and shoes. I also recommended pops of red accents in the rug, art and decor selections to add more color and interest to the room.
With the design plan in place, this client took on all the painting and assembly themselves, and here is how it turned out. I love how bright and inviting this space is now!
Now this client has a bold and beautiful dining room perfectly suited for hosting dinner parties with all of their favorite people - and they can feel transported to the Mediterranean without ever having to leave their home. A win-win!

Cảm giác đầu tiên là giao diện khá thoáng, nhìn không bị rối mắt. Mấy mục chính được gom lại gọn gàng nên vừa vào là biết đường bấm, không phải đoán mò. Mình cũng để ý họ chia nội dung thành từng khối rõ ràng, kiểu mỗi phần một block riêng nên kéo xuống vẫn thấy mạch lạc. Really liked how this post kept things simple and didn’t make me feel like I had to “study” it. The flow was easy to follow, and the examples felt like everyday stuff instead of some abstract textbook scenario. Halfway through I clicked around https://newimage.io/ out of curiosity, and it gave me that same straightforward vibe where you can just get what you need without digging forever. I’m not big on walls of text, so I appreciated how everything here is split up into bite-sized chunks you can skim without losing the thread. KUWIN mình mới ghé thử vì thấy bạn bè nhắc hoài, vào kiểu xem nhanh giao diện thôi chứ không có ngồi nghiên cứu gì sâu. Cảm giác đầu tiên là trang nhìn thoáng, chữ nghĩa dễ đọc, bấm qua lại mấy mục cũng không bị lạc. Mình có lướt phần giải đáp thấy họ có nhắc chuyện kết quả vận hành bằng RNG chuẩn quốc tế, đọc qua thì cũng thấy yên tâm hơn chút chứ không kiểu nói chung chung. Vào trang cái thấy bố cục khá dễ chịu, khoảng trắng vừa đủ nên nhìn không bị ngộp. Mấy phần nội dung được tách thành từng khối rõ ràng, lướt xuống là biết mình đang ở đoạn nào luôn. Mình thích nhất là cách họ canh chữ và chia cột gọn gàng, nhìn qua phát nắm ý chứ không phải căng mắt. Thanh menu cũng nằm chỗ dễ thấy nên đổi qua lại không bị lạc, cảm giác thao tác khá mượt.
